PS4.2 Rosetta, getting ready for the encounter |
Convener: Stephan Ulamec | Co-Convener: Matthew Taylor |
Rosetta will wake up from hibernation in January 2014 and approach its target, comet 67P/Churyumov Gerasimenko during spring. The comet will be characterized by a set of remote sensing and in-situ instruments; landing of Philae is foreseen for November.
The session will focus on the preparatory work before reaching the comet and address late breaking news on the status of the spacecraft. Results from ground based observations of 67P are explicitly welcome.
