On January 30, 2025, a major Anthropocene conference took place at the VU in Amsterdam. The conference featured 200 VU scholars, students and outsiders in a full day of 26 sessions, 2 keynote speakers at the conference and a poster and exhibition session. Contributions to the conference came from 19 different departments and faculties, covering the wide range of disciplines called for sessions in autumn 2024. How do we build a sustainable and just future together? In the aftermath we have a mail file of 300 addresses. We have now started Anthropocene Navigators meetings that we hold monthly, alternately online and onsite. The meetings are organised by the Amsterdam Sustainability Institute, VU Campus Online and the VU Library. There is more background information and an annual plan, see website Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam and search Join the Anthropocene Navigators community.

In addition to plans for a new conference, ideas have been conceived to go to Davos next year to offer large companies workshops of the Anthropocene Navigators. We would like to work with Dutch (but also international) companies to co-develop these 'workshops' for Davos.
How can we implement and accelerate a circular and sustainable business structure, how can we take companies along in the transition that is very much needed in today's world, where poly crises are piling up? What best practices are available that we can show to large companies? Which sustainable development lines in large companies, in addition to e.g. reducing equity portfolios, fossil energy lines, and building bio-inclusive protocols are available?
Please come discuss along how we can make big businesses more sustainable, and what can your expertise bring for us on the table?
