This is an informal networking event where participants can interact with fellow participants passionate about EDI topics that may affect them and their colleagues personally, providing an opportunity to share their experiences and stories with one another and to provide feedback and ideas on a range of important problems encountered in the geosciences. The Early Career Scientist (ECS) reception brings together ECS from across the scientific divisions with award-winning researchers, members of the EGU Union Council and Committees, sibling geoscience organisations, and selected industry partners. Participants are invited to build connections across divisions and with senior members of the geoscience community in an informal setting with drinks and light snacks provided. No registration is required to attend the reception.

The reception will be held in the Rooftop Foyer (Blue Level - floor 3), and a second 'overflow' space will be opened in Foyer C/B on the (Red Level - floor 2), once the Rooftop Foyer is at capacity. All Divisions will be represented on both floors.

The EGU Outreach Committee contributes the Union's objectives in identifying and highlighting societal challenges as well as increasing public awareness of the scientific work within the Earth, planetary, and space sciences.
