Short Summary: This session focuses on the performance and interpretability of weather forecasts generated by AI models. Contributions on the following topics are welcome: benchmarking activities, intercomparison projects, innovative verification methodology, forecasting of extreme events, diagnostics of forecast realism, and interpretability of AI weather models.
