Drought is a major driver of changes in soil-water availability and vegetation functioning, with impacts that vary across spatial and temporal scales. This session welcomes contributions investigating soil moisture dynamics and vegetation responses to drought across spatial and temporal scales. We invite studies using in-situ soil moisture sensors, field observations, proximal sensing, UAV and satellite observations, and environmental modeling to characterize soil-water availability and its links to vegetation functioning under water-limited conditions. Contributions addressing drought impacts on soil systems, soil moisture-vegetation interactions, multi-scale monitoring, and the integration of field measurements with Earth observation data are particularly encouraged.
