The EGU Education and Outreach committees work closely to promote and support education and outreach activities in the Earth, Planetary and space sciences. The Education Committee supports EGU's objective of fostering "the next generation of geoscientists by providing world-class education, training, and resources to secondary school teachers, university geoscience educators, and early career scientists." The Outreach Committee aims to support geoscientists in outreach, public engagement, and science communication, and to increase public awareness of the scientific work of the EGU membership.

In this Townhall Meeting, we invite anyone interested in contributing to the educational growth of EGU to join us to learn about the wide range of activities and resources developed and planned by the Education and Outreach committees.

Our goal is to increase awareness about the committees' educational initiatives and supporting opportunities, strengthen community engagement, identify potential collaborators and volunteers for upcoming projects, and facilitate meaningful discussions, leading to innovative strategies and approaches.

Public Information:

The session will include brief presentations given by representatives from each committee. These presentations will cover committees’ ongoing and new initiatives, financial support opportunities, and freely accessible resources. Following each presentation, there will be a 5-minute discussion period during which members of the audience will have the chance to ask questions and engage directly with the presenters.
