Development of flood risk and flood damage methodology

Floods methodologies includes variable indexes and indicators to asses and evaluate flood risk and flood damages. The most common indexes are hazard, vulnerability and exposure. The process of flood risk assessment and flood damage evaluation requires amount of input data to provide and to develop suitable maps with categorizied flood risk in the study area. Interviews and questionnaire surveys can be realized in the area of interest to obtain input data suitable for maps or other characterization needs. The present research focuses on current state of knowledges comparison and analysis of selected flood risk and flood damage methodologies. The second part of the paper provides description of the area of interest – the whole area of Slovak republik and overview of the data collection process.
